For those of us in town we have a lot going on this weekend. Here's what I have seen discussed:
Bike Newbie Clinic on Sunday - 9:00 - 11:00am at Adventure Cycle in Aurora. AMC will hold the third in our series of Beginner Clinics with a bicycling seminar. Included in this seminar will be the basics of bike maintenance, changing a flat tire, and basic riding skills. We will be going to a ride afterward so bring all of your gear - and your bike :).
The clinic is free for members and $50.00 for non-members (the fee includes, membership and all the good stuff that comes with membership). Register at http://amcnewbieclinic3.eventbrite.com/ - and tell your newbie friends about it!
Harvest Moon partial bike course training route Saturday morning - Shawn Price is heading out from the gravel parking lot at 8:00 am for this 43.58 mile ride (nothing like accuracy!) This is not an official Club ride (will not have anyone officially bringing up the rear, for example - ride safely!) Click here for more info about the route.
Saturday am Run Crew - Will be running from Lost Coffee in the Meadows in Castle Rock this Saturday at 8AM. Anyone is welcome to join regardless of running ability/conditioning. Runs are always a lot of fun with great people and support. Route and distance(s) TBD at this point. If you haven't run the Saturday run yet and are looking for a great run and great people to run with come and check it out, members and non members are more than welcome!
And in case you missed it, Ben Gonzales has finally renewed his membership with the Club and is now entitled to use his Club discount at all of our fine sponsors, as are the rest of us.

Subject: OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF MEDICAID EXPANSION LAUNCH
Good Afternoon: Please distribute this information widely to your staff and others who would find this information of interest. This is an excellent summary document.
Hello-
The Adults without Dependent Children expansion launches April 1st. Many of your staff may have already attended informational sessions on the new program, but below you will find basic background about the program as well as AwDC resources available for you and your staff.
Program Background
The Adults without Dependent Children (AwDC) expansion will provide Medicaid benefits to 10,000 eligible adults, ages 19 through 64, who are at or below 10% FPL, do not have a Medicaid-eligible dependent child living in the home and who are ineligible for Medicare and other Medicaid programs.
· Applications will be accepted beginning April 1, 2012
· Enrollment for AwDC will be effective May 1, 2012 for 10,000 eligible adults selected in a randomized member selection process
· The first randomized member selection process will be in mid-May 2012.
· Clients will be automatically enrolled into the Accountable Care Collaborative (ACC)
· Clients will receive regular Medicaid benefits
· Funding for AwDC is available through authority provided in the Colorado Health Care Affordability Act (HB 09-1293) which authorizes the Hospital Provider Fee
Resources for Community Partners
· AwDC Eligibility and Enrollment FAQs – The frequently asked questions for AwDC is a working document and will be updated as necessary
· AwDC and CICP FAQs – Quick link for information on program interaction between AwDC and the CICP
· AwDC and ACC – Quick link for information on program interaction between AwDC and the ACC
· AwDC Manual – This comprehensive resource geared toward eligibility staff has program and policy information and examples of client communications
· Client one-page flyer for counties and community partners to post at their sites
· This gives high level program information meant to encourage clients to ask questions about the program
· Client Correspondence Summary – A guide to indicate which letters/communications clients may expect with reference to Version 2.0 of the AwDC Manual
· As more resources become available, they will be posted to the Department Web site at Colorado.gov/hcpf/awdc
Note
Capabilities for checking AwDC application status in Colorado PEAK will be limited until clients are enrolled from the waitlist and receiving benefits.
· The “Check My Benefits” function will not clearly differentiate applicants’ status when they are on the waitlist or have been denied eligibility (screen for both situations will say “[applicant] is not getting Medical Assistance benefits”). This function will, however, clearly define eligibility status for those who are enrolled and receiving Medicaid benefits (screen will say “[applicant] is getting Medical Assistance benefits”).
· The “Report My Changes” function will be accessible for all AwDC clients who are on the waitlist and who are enrolled and receiving benefits.
Upcoming
· FYI- Randomized member selection processes held in months subsequent to May 2012 will be indicated on the AwDC Web page at Colorado.gov/hcpf/awdc
For additional questions on AwDC, please contact Susan Mathieu at (303) 866-3582 or Susan.Mathieu@state.co.us. You can also contact Andrea Skubal at (303) 866-3632 or Andrea.Skubal@state.co.us.
