Immigrant integration is a dynamic, two-way process in which newcomers and the receiving society work together to build secure, vibrant, and cohesive communities. As an intentional effort, integration engages and transforms all community members, reaping shared benefits and creating a new whole that is greater than the sum of its parts (Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees).

Subject: Know Your Rights at Home - IAN Update
To: denverintegration@gmail.com
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted nationwide, intensive enforcement operations in the past week arresting more than 3,000 people. ICE states the enforcement was targeted, with a "focus on the arrest and removal of convicted criminal aliens and those that game our nation's immigration system." The Associated Press (AP) reports that ICE agents conducting the sweep in a few San Diego neighborhoods "targeted 14 illegal immigrants and found six. They arrested six others who were not targets." According to the AP, the agents "typically knock on doors early in the morning before people go to work." People who are undocumented and citizens alike should know their rights when an officer knocks on the door. We want to alert you to "Know Your Rights" resources available through the Immigration Advocates Network (IAN), our partners, and other advocates.
