Mayor Hancock to Host Summer Youth

Job Fair and Training Expo

DENVER – Mayor Michael B. Hancock will host a summer youth job fair and training expo to help connect youth to summer jobs and career training opportunities. The Summer Youth Jobs & Training Expo will be held Friday, May 18, from 1 to 6 p.m., at the Colorado Convention Center.

The job fair and training expo will feature more than 50 employers, offering more than 200 positions for youth in a variety of industries. Youth attendees will receive two hours of training geared to strengthen their employability, with topics to include financial literacy, job readiness, healthy relationships and higher education.

“We’re excited to team up with Denver businesses to help hire and train our youth,” Mayor Hancock said. “This expo is a great opportunity to prepare them to be future successes in life as well as productive contributors to our city.”

The fair is open to youth ages 14 to 21. Attendees should bring a resume, come professionally dressed and must pre-register online at www.connectingcolorado.com.

The job fair and training expo is offered through the Office of Economic Development’s division of Workforce Development, Youth Services. For more information on youth employment services call 720-865-5700 or visit www.denvergov.org/youthservices.
