Important Notice:  As you will see below, not all of the 10,000  Medicaid for Adults without Dependent Children Medicaid slots were utilized in the original application process.  Therefore, all applicants who met the appropriate criterion in the initial round should have been granted a slot in the program.  Additionally, there has been an extension of the application period through the end of the day on June 5th.

Although this is a short turn around period, it is an excellent opportunity for your clients to gain access to this program and the extended benefits that come with it.

Please email if you have any questions.

Good afternoon,

Today we began moving more than 6,000 Adults without Dependent Children (AwDC) waitlist clients into benefits.  Because fewer than 10,000 have been determined eligible thus far, all individuals on the waitlist are being enrolled in the program.  These clients will receive Medicaid benefits back to May 1, 2012.  They will be enrolled in the Accountable Care Collaborative (ACC) program effective June 1, 2012.  Starting next week we will begin mailing letters to enrolled clients telling them they are now eligible for benefits.  In the next two weeks, clients should receive an additional letter saying they have been enrolled in the ACC program.  The correspondence is available on our Web site: Colorado.gov/hcpf/awdc.

Next week I will send an email with the number of clients enrolled in each RCCO region.  This information will also be posted on our Web site: Colorado.gov/hcpf/awdc

Please continue encouraging and assisting individuals to apply.  Our next enrollment will begin on June 8, 2012.  In order to be considered for the June 8th enrollment, clients must have been determined eligible and be on the waitlist by the end of the day on June 5th.  If there are more individuals on the waitlist than there are open positions we will run a statewide random selection process to determine who will receive benefits.  If there are fewer individuals on the waitlist than there are open positions everyone on the waitlist will be enrolled into benefits.

Thank you for all of your efforts in getting this program up and running.

Susan
