Please help us spread the word about Heroic Journey 2012 to grieving teens in your community and beyond. Because we spend a minimal amount on marketing, we rely on word of mouth to fill this program. We are excited to announce that Outward Bound Heroic Journey has just received a grant for $238,000 and will not only continue to serve teens in Colorado, but will expand to Outward Bound programs in Maine, Minnesota, North Carolina, and to the Philadelphia Center.
An Outward Bound adventure for grieving teens with reduced tuition for all participants made possible through the generosity of the New Your Life Foundation. By combining personal growth methodologies of Outward Bound, with a simple support model that honors the griever, we deliver an intensely profound healing experience relevant to the lives of people who are coping with the death of a loved one.

By adding some grief related rituals, and ceremonies that appeal to the teens, they are moved to express themselves in ways that they typically can't, or won't, when they are back at home in their everyday surroundings."
