Sewa Denver Sewa Script to get sponsors for Cricket teams and putting booths/stalls on June 17 & June 24

Namaste all, 

Here is the script that you can use to solicit donations, sponsorship for the cricket tournament. You can also use this to get gift cards to help the Bhutanese students. 

Script

I am <Krishna Vaidyanathan>. a volunteer of Sewa International. Sewa is a volunteer-driven 501c3 non-profit organization that is involved in many humanitarian and development projects in many counties. In Colorado we work with refugees from Bhutan helping them settle in, find jobs and become productive citizens of this country. 

We are involved in women empowerment and child welfare projects. We recently gave 50 bicycles, helmets, pumps and locks to Bhutanese high school children to commute to school. We are also giving bus pass and tokens worth of $500 every month to these kids.  

The reason I want to talk to you, is to get some donations or gift card to help us buy school supplies and other essentials for children. We are also involved in helping war victims in Sri Lanka.

We are organizing a cricket tournament on June 17 & 24 and all proceeds from it goes towards our Sri Lanka and Refugee Empowerment projects. We would like to see if your business can sponsor a sporting team or would like to put a booth (10x10) in Littleton Cornerstone Park or Lower Acre Gardens in Longmont.

Gift Card Solicitation

I'd like to get volunteers to talk to stores like Walmart, Target, Sams, Costco, etc to get gift cards that could be used for purchasing stuff for Bhutanese community. 

NOTE: If you are planning to ask for Gift cards, please use the attached letter. You have to modify the text highlighted in 'yellow' and talk to the HR manager before you hand out the modified letter in-person or fax it to them.
