Jennifer Shute, a Case Manager in Community Services, coordinated another outstanding project that will benefit the Head Start programs in Jefferson County.

Her client, an experienced craftsman, needed to complete Useful Public Service hours for a DUI and Careless Driving charge.  The proposed construction of a walk-in playhouse caught her attention, and she arranged to have the client build, paint, deliver, and assemble the kid sized cottage to the Arvada Head Start in July.  Head Start students now have a playhouse to enjoy.

The 16 square foot house features opening door and bay windows, carpeted floor, and a 5 foot ceiling.  One wall is prepared for use with dry erase markers.  The little house was assembled in the library, and will likely spend some time in each classroom on a rotating schedule.  The 6 piece structure can be taken apart and reassembled in about 10 minutes, and will provide a fun new place to sit and read about Curious George, or to pretend cooking up the newest Rachael Ray recipe.

Perhaps best of all, the production of this project shows another successful result from shared communication and collaboration. See a photo of the playhouse below.
