[The Network] Medicaid Buy-In Program for Children with Disabilities

With apologies for any duplication, Family Voices Colorado and the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing are trying to get the word out about these information sessions regarding the upcoming Children with Disabilities Medicaid Buy-In program.


The target audience is families of children with disabilities who are not currently on Medicaid, and providers/professionals who work with those families. Please forward to clients and colleagues as appropriate.

The Medicaid Buy-In Program for Children with Disabilities (Children's Buy-In) is a Medicaid program that will be available for enrollment in July 2012 and allow eligible families to pay a monthly premium to 'buy-in' to Medicaid benefits.

Who should attend?

Families, advocates and community organizations interested in learning more about this new Medicaid program.

 

The Children's Buy-In may be an option for children with a disability to receive health care coverage, including children who:

·         Are on a waitlist for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) or Medicaid Waiver, or were denied services;

·         Do not currently have health care insurance; or

·         Have needs that are not covered by private insurance
